Executive Assistant Anna Booth,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
Sometime in March,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I stumbled upon the MacKids blog while I was doing research in preparation for my first job interview with Macmillan. As I scrolled through the on My Desk? posts, I dreamt that someday I, too,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], might have A) a desk in the Flatiron,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and B) an enormous collection of weird STUFF to put in it!
Now that I been at Macmillan for two months, I have indeed begun to accumulate desk STUFF. This is what my desk looks like now:
My boss,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Dan,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is constantly telling me to him about something or other. The brown and silver blob in the middle is my purse, which usually has three or four books in it at any given time. On the left,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], in the red chair, is another bag I carrying around today, which contains my bright orange L. L. Bean raincoat and another book that didn fit in my purse this morning. In the foreground is the cutting station for the Art Design folks whenever they need to trim printouts of their work,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they come visit me!
Here where the magic really happens! My job involves planning meetings,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], making schedules, compiling expense reports,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and sending documents around the building to be signed. Unfortunately,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I have a terrible short term memory and can barely remember what I had for breakfast this morning. These folders help me keep track of what I working on. That folder in the front contains a very important document called Care and Feeding of Dan,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which was left to me by my predecessor, Lindsay Ross. Turns out he pretty good at feeding himself.
This is my to-read stack of galleys and books from the FREE BOOKS boxes in the kitchen,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. I am very fond of free books,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
These are the views from my two windows. If I were a better photographer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they match up. Can you see where they should overlap? Also of interest is the metal sculpture of a man standing on the roof of the gray building in the second picture. Can you see him?
Last but not least, this lovely piece of artwork has been passed down from generation to generation of Mac Kids employees and was most recently bequeathed unto me by Allison Remcheck. Can you spot it in her on My Desk? blog post?
