SLM001,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you are a moron who obviously doesn't have a clue about what this race involved. Rhonda Sivarajah is my county commissioner and through her campaign,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I've been lucky enough to know her as a friend.
Rhonda Sivarajah is not a Democrat and there are no racial issues involved in this race. Sivarajah is a white woman whose opponent, Kevin Ryan, is a white man. Ryan has a criminal rap sheet four pages long and is well known by local officials in 2 counties and 4 cities as a troublemaker.
MN55066 correctly surmised why Ryan got so many votes - so many uninformed voters. If you haven't done any research on the candidates for a race,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], don't vote for the position. I respect those voters who voted for only 2 or 3 races and left the remainder of the ballot blank because they didn't know anything about the candidates. But, as a citizen of this country,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it is your duty to research all the candidates for all elected postions before you are handed your ballot.

Remember Sharon Anderson? She's the woman who quadrennially runs for Attorney General as a Republican. She has no law degree and isn't licensed to practice law in Minnesota,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but what the hell,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], those are just technicalities. In the 90s she won the Republican primary for AG but lost to Skip Humphrey in the general election. She narrowly lost in the Republican primary to Jeff Johnson two years ago. There was a lot of speculation that had the Republicans run a candidate with a more "foreign" sounding name in that primary, she would have won.

since moving to anoka county a few years ago from minneapolis, i have observed a very racist, backwards thinking,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], self-serving, status quo protecting local govt. and population in anoka. if you are one of the locals, yahoo! if not,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], then you aren't welcome here. if you want to fit in, it is easier if you are white, overweight,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], drive a big SUV,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and dress in jeans,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], sneakers and a big sweatshirt. what these people are voting for- or against more likely - is this local little circle jerk of inbred politicos- they want different ideas, a different regime,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], perhaps some new people in here. what,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], this guy is gonna steal more than they are? make worse policies? try reading anoka's newspaper, and follow their little meetings and/or better yet go attend one or two.!
