The decision also puts one less adjustment on Cespedes' plate as he transitions to a new country.
"I think that's what we go with for the time being,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Melvin told reporters. "Cespedes is more comfortable in center,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], (Josh) Reddick is comfortable in right. To maneuver all that around would be difficult."
Crisp told reporters he was "hurt" by the news and that playing left would be "different" and "weird,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," but that he'll go out and be a Gold Glove-caliber left fielder if that's what the team needs. To Crisp's credit,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Cespedes said Crisp has given him help in playing center.
"It's a humbling conversation,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Crisp said. "I don't think that you take it well. You try to take it as best you can.
