BioJeff Howe is really a bonsai enthusiast and harmonica player that has very good reason to think the Universe tastes just like a cheap buck-fifty melon. He is a product of Walled Lake along with a former Poetry Slam Champion of Milwaukee. He once shook hands with Rocky Colavito, opened for Leon Redbone and took a piss next to Mose Allison (no hands were shaken). It's been downhill since. Jeff is really a misemployed geologist who focuses on interpreting rock outcrops at 70 miles per hour. It's a gift. His daughter loves cows. .
One February Sunday morning when I lived in Milwaukee,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I attended a public nature walk at the local nature center entitled For Signs Of Spring About this day,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the environment was wet and cold,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], heaven was damp,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and it alternately rained and slushed all day. We looked and we looked but we finally returned to the nature center using the conclusion there WERE NO signs of Spring! We were soaked to the core and cold to the bone so the naturalist quickly presented some wonderful mugs of rich,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], steaming hot cocoa. And that we sat with a fire talking.
A young girl of about 10 years old, had her completely soaked boots and socks off and was attempting to warm her frozen little feet through the fire. wish toes could sip hot cocoa! she announced to her father.
I overheard her comment and furiously wrote this little poem to her during my notebook after which read it to her through the fire. This poem hung,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as ripped from my notebook, on the wall for years. It may still be there.
