DD started walking at 11.5 months,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and she is currently almost 20 months old. I recently took her to a shoe-store to get her properly measured and fitted for some sneakers. The sales-lady said "wow-she really toes-in huh?"
I honestly hadn't given it a second thought until then. I had been noticing the toeing-in most recently,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but had attributed it to the fact that her sneakers were too small--which is why I wanted to get her properly fitted.
Now I am concerned about her being pigeon-toed,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. I do have an appointment with her pediatrician but just wanted to see if other mothers had experience with this,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
I know pigeon-toeing is a concern when children first start walking,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but she has never had a problem (that I noticed when she first started walking--she walked fairly straight). She hardly trips and her current "toeing-in" doesn't seem to affect her walking and running.
I am assuming my ped is going to refer me to an ortho specialist. I told my DD's pediatrician about my baby shoes when I told her about my SO's concern over DD's legs. The doc said not to worry about it. Many children's legs are bowed or turned in or out,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but the body works itself out by the time we are 7 yo.
