Markets post gains for fourth session out of past five
NEW YORK, July 17 () -- U.S. equity markets resumed making gains Wednesday, climbing for the fourth session out of the past five.The Dow Jones industrial average added 18.67 points or 0.12 percent to 15,470.52. The Standard & Poor's 500 added 4.65 points, 0.28 percent, to 1,680.91. The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite index gained 11.50 points or 0.32 percent to 3,610.On the New York Stock Exchange,[url=http://www.ewwealth.com/]louboutin sale[/url], 1,991 stocks advanced and 1,043 declined on a volume of 3.1 billion shares traded.The Nikkei 225 index in Japan added 0.11 percent or 15.92 points to 14,615.04. In Britain, the FTSE 100 added 0.24 percent or 15.58 points to 6,571.93.The 10-year U.S. treasury note rose 11/32 to yield 2.494 percent.Gold shed 1.34 percent or $17.30 to $1,274.70 per troy ounce. Silver dropped 69 cents to $19.245 per ounce, off 3.46 percent.West Texas Intermediate crude oil added 67 cents in after-hours trading to reach $106.36 per barrel.The euro fell to $1.3126 against the dollar. Against the yen, the dollar fell to 99.56 yen.On the Chicago Board of Trade, December corn dropped 9 cents to $5.01 3/4, November soybeans dropped 3 1/2 cents to $12.82 3/4 and September wheat was off 4 cents to settle at $6.65 1/2.
