MixBit video app allows users to share, stitch together video clips
SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 8 () -- The founders of YouTube have launched a video app they say will allow users to edit and combine clips with video from other users to create longer productions.MixBit, a video-stitching app from Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, co-founders of YouTube, appeared in Apple's App store for iOS users Thursday, with an Android version promised for September, CNET reported. The app will let users record, edit and publish videos as short as one second or as long as an hour, all from their mobile device. A video can contain as many as 256 clips, and once finished can be saved on the mobile device or published on the MixBit website, which also went live Thursday.Users can freely borrow clips from other MixBit users to add to their own video, Hurley said in a blog post."MixBit.com is a community of creators," Hurley wrote. "People who want to record and share pieces of their lives and the things they love -- concerts, michael kors outlet online, favorite foods, trips to new places, jimmy choo sale, or just hanging out with friends and family -- as well as filmmakers, citizen journalists and everyone in between."MixBit is also for people who enjoy playing with video in order to create something new and unexpected."
