Texans' Robinson apologizes for 'pay me' message on sneakers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
Texans CB Dunta Robinson apologized on Monday for what he said was the "regrettable" act of inscripting a contract-related message to GM Rick Smith on his sneakers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Robinson wore shoes that read "Pay me" on one and "Rick" on the other,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a reference to his contract stalemate with the Texans after being tagged as the franchise player.
"It was regrettable,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Robinson said,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], via the Houston Chronicle. "I didn't put that much thought into it. It didn't mean that much to me. If it offended anybody,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I apologize. It wasn't (meant to be) that serious at all."
Robinson started in Week 1 just day's after signing a $9.9 million contract tender,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. He said the message on the sneakers was not meant as a Week 1 shot across the Texans' bow,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
"It was all fun and games,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," he said. "I don't think Rick took it personally. It wasn't meant that way. If I had thought it would bring some negativity in here (locker room),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I wouldn't have put them on. The guys laughed about it.
