In order to achieve this goal, some important sub-goals that were discussed are to implement regional based educational programs where occupational health and safety will become a core part of the curriculum, create a central hub for career management,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and become a centre of excellence for distance learning. Residents urge the importance of providing a high-quality education where the provincial average of high school grads who continue to post-secondary education continues to increase. One of the mayor's primary objectives is to make Fort McMurray a place that people consider home.
