JR Smith shines as Knicks use total team effort to pound Spurs
It's no longer just the best start to a season JR Smith has ever had. It's starting to turn into a special one for the current sixth man of the New York Knicks and it's a big reason why they are in first place in the Atlantic Division.

Before the season, Smith was not very keen on the idea of coming off the bench for the team. Woodson didn't care about Smith's feelings as he felt like the Knicks are a much better team when Smith is coming off the bench. It is hard to argue with Woodson as Smith as shined in that role and is the early leading candidate for the Sixth Man of the Year Award.
"That was the whole idea coming into this season/" said Woodson. "Putting him in a position as a guy coming off the bench, as a guy that can lead the league or score a lot points off the bench. We're putting him in the position to do that. I think he's starting to step up and be more patient about his play."
Carmelo Anthony scored half the points tonight than he did the other night leading the team with 23 points. With Raymond Felton out of action for the next of month, Prigioni's minutes at the point will surely increase as New York hopes to keep Kidd's minutes down as the season goes on.

Amar'e Stoudemire had 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting in his second game of the season after knee surgery. He was better than his debut game and seemed to slowly get his offensive game back by the minute. However,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he clearly is still a ways to go as he still lacks the explosiveness in his offense as he had many of his shots blocked.
