Fashion place madness has once again reached a point of legal and safety decisions. Safety is more then watching for trips and falls in today's society. It is called the JS Roundhouse "Shackle" sneaker. The sneaker was listed on Facebook to be sold in major retail location in Riverside,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and has received 38,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],000 likes on Facebook by teens and other sneaker lovers. Despite this customer demand,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Adidas took the time to really look at all safety factors of the new sneaker,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and decided to; cancel production, marketing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and sales despite the debates to move ahead for profit over consumer safety concerns. The concerns raised included that the "shackle sneaker" is " shoe racist and intensive" also that it "invokes the era of slavery". Critics of the release of this $350.00 sneaker included Rev. Jesse Jackson.
The shackle sneaker which was on high school student's shopping list in Riverside CA. for this fall will not be available. Sales were scheduled for mid-August at retailers in Riverside that carry the Adidas line of sneakers. The announcement was made on ABC News. Adidas defended the designer of this sneaker; Jeremy Scott. Adidas stated; "Our collaboration with Jeremy Scottt has always stood for creativity and orginality. Jeramy Scott is renowed as a designer whose style is quirky and lighthearted and his previous shoe designs for Adidas Originals have included; Panda Heads and Micky Mouse. The design of the JS Roundhouse Mid is nothing more than the designer Jeramy Scotts's outragous and unique take on fashion and has nothing to do with slavery." Adidas made this announcement to let customers know that the intent of the "shackle sneaker" was not one to create unsafe conditions in society,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or the market place.
