Debt is only a symptom, a consequence of a more far-reaching and insidious condition - a condition which must be altered at its root to change the course of America in a meaningful way.

People seek freedom yet abhor responsibility - a contradiction. One cannot have freedom without responsibility. Despite this truth we still clamor unceasingly for prosperity without obligation. We succumb to the siren's song. We willingly forfeit freedom attempting to achieve the impossible - getting something for nothing. The outcome is like making guns easily accessible to emotionally unstable actors,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we create a system where power and trust are readily available for use and abuse.

The real issue destroying the American experiment in self-government is the misallocation and mismanagement of power. Concentrating power and expecting anything but an explosion is foolish. To get America back on track we must diffuse the ticking time bomb and redistribute the people's power and responsibility - like it or not. Politicians cannot run this economy, they can only ruin it. We must not leave our fate to them.

To get ourselves here we have chosen poorly. It is time we choose a less popular, a more difficult path. Only when the government is of the people, for the people and by the people will the people prosper. Effort comes before reward.
