and probably tastier compared to Polypill technique to reduce coronary disease,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
The goal of this research ended up being to identify a tastier and safer alternative to the Polypill: the Polymeal,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Methods Data on the ingredients from the Polymeal were taken from the literature. Evidence based recipe included wine,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fish,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], dark chocolate,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fruits,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], vegetables,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], garlic,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and almonds. Data from the Framingham heart study and also the Framingham offspring study were utilised to construct life tables to model the benefits of the Polymeal within the general population from age 50,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], assuming multiplicative correlations.
Results Combining the components of the Polymeal would reduce coronary disease events by 76%. For males,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], using the Polymeal daily represented a rise in total life expectancy of 6.6 years,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], an increase in life expectancy free from cardiovascular disease of 9.0 years,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and a decrease in life span with cardiovascular disease of two.4 years. OHF may be the guarantor.
Funding This research was based on grants from the Netherlands Heart Foundation (grant no 98.138) and also the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (grant no 904-66-093). OHF,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], LB,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], CdL,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], AP,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], EWS,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and JPM were partly funded by the Netherlands Heart Foundation (grant no 98.138) and the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (grant no 904-66-093). AP was also partly funded by VicHealth (fellowship grant no 2002-0191).
